We didn't do it.

THIS IS WHAT HATE LOOKS LIKE. YES ON 8 IS WRONG AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THE CLOSE MINDED HATE. YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK. AND ANY KIDS THAT VOTED FOR THIS YOU ARE JUST YOUR PARENTS PUPPETS!!! I HOPE A TIME COMES THAT YOU ARE IMPOSED UPON BECAUSE OF SOMETHING YOU CAN'T CHANGE YOU IGNORANT PIECES OF GARBAGE.
IN CLOSING, I HOPE YOU FULLY REALIZE YOUR IDEA OF A HELL ONE DAY AND IT IS TEN TIMES AS WORSE AS YOU FEARED AND POPULATED WITH YOU AND ALL YOUR FRIENDS.
I half suspect it was because people were fooled by the yes/no choice. Most older people I talked to thought yes meant you approved of gay marriage. All we can do now is try and work towards reform in the process of regulating the propositions and their wording. An independent panel needs to approve this with the elderly in mind. Our election process is flawed on all levels and if this presidential election wasn't such a no brainer we would be right back to 2000.
I hang my head in shame today as I walk through the streets of southern california. A fire burns in me and a happy beat plays in my heart for the hope of the nation, but here amongst the reactionary sheep of the catholicism, christianity, and closeted homosexuality I openly weep.

one of the coolest things I've read in a long time
by: eastside93
I have a confession to make.
I did not vote for Barack Obama today.
I've openly supported Obama since March. But I didn't vote for him today.
I wanted to vote for Ronald Woods. He was my algebra teacher at Clark Junior High in East St. Louis, IL. He died 15 years ago when his truck skidded head-first into a utility pole. He spent many a day teaching us many things besides the Pythagorean Theorem. He taught us about Medgar Evers, Ralph Abernathy, John Lewis and many other civil rights figures who get lost in the shadow cast by Martin Luther King, Jr.
But I didn't vote for Mr. Woods.
I wanted to vote for Willie Mae Cross. She owned and operated Crossroads Preparatory Academy for almost 30 years, educating and empowering thousands of kids before her death in 2003. I was her first student. She gave me my first job, teaching chess and math concepts to kids in grades K-4 in her summer program. She was always there for advice, cheer and consolation. Ms. Cross, in her own way, taught me more about walking in faith than anyone else I ever knew.
But I didn't vote for Ms. Cross.
I wanted to vote for Arthur Mells Jackson, Sr. and Jr. Jackson Senior was a Latin professor. He has a gifted school named for him in my hometown. Jackson Junior was the pre-eminent physician in my hometown for over 30 years. He has a heliport named for him at a hospital in my hometown. They were my great-grandfather and great-uncle, respectively.
But I didn't vote for Prof. Jackson or Dr. Jackson.
I wanted to vote for A.B. Palmer. She was a leading civil rights figure in Shreveport, Louisiana, where my mother grew up and where I still have dozens of family members. She was a strong-willed woman who earned the grudging respect of the town's leaders because she never, ever backed down from anyone and always gave better than she got. She lived to the ripe old age of 99, and has a community center named for her in Shreveport.
But I didn't vote for Mrs. Palmer.
I wanted to vote for these people, who did not live to see a day where a Black man would appear on their ballots on a crisp November morning.
In the end, though, I realized that I could not vote for them any more than I could vote for Obama himself.
So who did I vote for?
No one.
I didn't vote. Not for President, anyway.
Oh, I went to the voting booth. I signed, was given my stub, and was walked over to a voting machine. I cast votes for statewide races and a state referendum on water and sewer improvements.
I stood there, and I thought about all of these people, who influenced my life so greatly. But I didn't vote for who would be the 44th President of the United States.
When my ballot was complete, except for the top line, I finally decided who I was going to vote for - and then decided to let him vote for me. I reached down, picked him up, and told him to find Obama's name on the screen and touch it.
And so it came to pass that Alexander Reed, age 5, read the voting screen, found the right candidate, touched his name, and actually cast a vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
Oh, the vote will be recorded as mine. But I didn't cast it.
Then again, the person who actually pressed the Obama box and the red "vote" button was the person I was really voting for all along.
It made the months of donating, phonebanking, canvassing, door hanger distributing, sign posting, blogging, arguing and persuading so much sweeter.
So, no, I didn't vote for Barack Obama. I voted for a boy who now has every reason to believe he, too, can grow up to be anything he wants...even President.

Prop. 8 equals prop hate NO
Prop. 9 Criminal Justice System, Victims’ Rights NO
Prop. 10 Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy NO
Prop. 11 Redistricting YES
Prop. 12 Veterans' Bond Act NEUTRAL
In summary, what I've learned from this above all else is that any proposition is exactly what it sounds like. They are trying to sell something and you have to pay for it. They are hookers and the bulk of these things equate to not very good ones. Prop 8 is an overweight transvestite with an overbite and herpes, she wants to blow you and it will only cost a billion dollars and your soul? For the rest of you life remember and make them work for it. They have to clean up their bullshit and state the facts if they want more of our money. Knowledge is the poison that kills this flawed system we live in so infect everyone you can with the truth.
This has been fun, thanks for coming along. Obama 08' get out tuesday and speak loudly.
We now resume our regularly scheduled programming...
Prop. 12 veterans' bond act

Officially asks for:
-This act provides for a bond issue of nine hundred million dollars ($900,000,000) to provide loans to California veterans to purchase farms and homes.
-Appropriates money from the state General Fund to pay off the bonds, if loan payments from participating veterans are insufficient for that purpose.
-Costs of about $1.8 billion to pay off both the principal ($900 million) and interest ($856 million) on the bonds; costs paid by participating veterans.
-Average payment for principal and interest of about $59 million per year for 30 years.
argument for:
On November 7, 1922, the people of California authorized the very first Veterans’ Bond Act for the Cal-Vet Home Loan Program.
The Cal-Vet Home Loan Program enables veterans to obtain low-interest rate loans for the purchase of conventional homes, manufactured homes, and mobile homes without costing the taxpayers one cent.
All costs of the program, including all administration costs, are paid for by veterans holding loans. There have never been any costs to the taxpayers of California.
Cal-Vet home loans generate thousands of housing industry-related jobs with millions of dollars in annual payrolls.
This measure was placed on the ballot by a unanimous vote of 75–0 in the State Assembly and 39–0 in the State Senate.
Your “Yes” Vote on Proposition 12 will enable more veterans to buy homes in California and help the economy at the same time, all with no direct cost to the state’s taxpayers.
against:
money that people might put into private investments, the profits on which are taxable and generate money for the state, would instead go to buy state bonds, which do not generate tax income.
"In this time of peril in the mortgage market there might be some defaults that won't be covered" without taxpayer support
He also argued that with limited money available, any bond proceeds should go first to injured veterans and those who served in combat zones.
As the proposition is written, the bond money would also be available to those who served in the military without leaving the United States.
my take:
This is another of those "sounds good but is it" propositions. It keeps saying that taxpayers have never had to pay for this but look at the economy we live in... unprecedented waters we navigate these days.
final word:
I'm staying neutral on this on...
Prop. 11 Redistricting

Officially asks for:
-Changes authority for establishing Assembly, Senate, and Board of Equalization district boundaries from elected representatives to 14 member commission.
-Requires government auditors to select 60 registered voters from applicant pool. Permits legislative leaders to reduce pool, then the auditors pick eight commission members by lottery, and those commissioners pick six additional members for 14 total.
-Requires commission of five Democrats, five Republicans and four of neither party. Commission shall hire lawyers and consultants as needed.
-For approval, district boundaries need votes from three Democratic commissioners, three Republican commissioners and three commissioners from neither party.
argument for:
A “no” vote means politicians continue drawing their own districts and more gridlock in Sacramento.
POLITICIANS ARE BEHIND THE MISLEADING “NO” CAMPAIGN.
11 creates a diverse, qualified, independent commission that will draw fair districts that truly respect California’s communities.
Proposition 11 will force politicians to work together to solve real problems like health care, education, water, the budget, and the high cost of food and gas.
against:
They’re selling Prop. 11 as a cure-all—and hoping you won’t check the label.
Prop. 11 creates a new bureaucracy to draw districts—on top of the people we already pay for the job. They will spend millions of dollars—and no audits to account for their money.
The politicians backing Prop. 11 have taken more contributions from special interests than any politicians in California history. But they don’t trust voters to elect the right people—so they’re trying to change the rules to help themselves.
my take:
both sides say the "politicians are trying to fuck you over" As far as I can see a yes vote hurts the politicians so I'm guessing the bullshit side is no on this issue. I love to fuck over a politician as much as the next guy, I'm the first in line smiling. This will cost money though, so is fucking over some random people worth it? How badly does it even hurt them? It stops government from defining their own districts which means they divide up neighborhoods to create districts where they are virtually guaranteed reelection.
Once elected, these politicians aren’t accountable to voters because they don’t have to earn our votes. Instead, they pay more attention to the special interests.
final word:
This is by and far the BIGGEST MINDFUCK ON THE BALLOT. It infuriates me, the best I can make of it we will do a good thing passing it though. Here it is... the rare YES vote. YES on 11
Prop. 10 alternative fuel vehicles and renewable energy
Officially asks for:
-provides 3.245 billion to help consumers and others purchase certain high fuel economy or alternative fuel vehicles, including natural gas vehicles, and to fund research into alt. fuel technology.
-provides 1.25 billion for research, development, and production of renewable energy technology.
-grants to cities and colleges for research and development
-total of 5 billion
this one is too one sided so I am just going to summarize a L.A. Times editorial about the facts of this proposition. Please read it all:
"Billionaire Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens, listed by Forbes as the 131st richest American, really, really wants your money. So much so that his natural-gas fueling company has shelled out $3.2 million to further the reprehensible scam known as Proposition 10"
"true aim is to subsidize vehicles powered by natural gas, which would build a customer base for its sponsor: Clean Energy Fuels Corp., a company Pickens co-founded that operates natural gas filling stations throughout the U.S. and Canada."
"the lion's share of the bond money, $2.875 billion worth, goes for rebates on purchases of alternative fuel vehicles"
"The rebates are structured so that only a small amount of money goes to truly environmentally beneficial vehicles, while most would subsidize those that run on natural gas. For example, buyers of hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius that get combined highway-city fuel economy of 45 miles per gallon or better would be eligible for a $2,000 rebate, handed out on a first-come, first-served basis to 55,000 buyers. But if you buy a "clean alternative fuel vehicle," you get a $10,000 rebate. These are defined under Proposition 10 as cars, vans or light trucks powered by natural gas, electricity or hydrogen. Last we checked, there were no hydrogen or electric vehicles on the new-car market."
"A total of $1 billion would be allocated for rebates on purchases of natural gas-powered trucks -- an initial $50,000 rebate per truck. Nothing in the initiative says these trucks have to remain in California. So the day Proposition 10 is enacted, buyers will line up to purchase natural gas trucks, drive them to Nevada or some more sensible state, resell them and collect the $50,000-per-truck rebate as pure profit, courtesy of California taxpayers. The environmental gains for the state? Zero"
"There's a much better way to encourage clean cars"
That last part is the point, these are all written to sound good, but is it specifically good for right now? and will it have real results in an acceptable time frame?
final word:
"send Pickens packing and reject Proposition 10." NO
Prop. 9 criminal justice system, victim's rights

Officially asks for:
-requires notification of victim and opportunity for input during phases of criminal justice process, including bail, pleas, sentencing and parole.
-reduces the number or parole hearings granted
-requires that victims receive written notification of their rights
-increases the number of people allowed to attend and testify on behalf of a victim at a parole hearing
argument for:
sorry to sound bias but this is honestly just a bunch of stories appealing to emotion. I could make you vote for anything if I said, "a yes vote means no more sixth grade boys and girls will be forced to smash newborn puppies with hammers while they give their grandparents the finger"
against:
This bill was bought and paid for by one man - Henry Nicholas III. Most of the statutes of this were already approved in 1982's victims bill of rights.
my take:
this prop is much too emotion driven. it is supported by "Justice for Homicide victims" and "justice for murdered children" Their entire argument is hypothetical "jenny was a fresh young college student in the prime of life..." stories. It's all written entirely in Uppercase letters. These are the classic signs of a bullshit prop. If you have a real argument you can maintain a rational tone. You do this because you know it so well you feel it in your gut and therefore there is nothing to fear and you speak calmly and clearly. Appealing to emotions in a monetary matter is what a con artist does. "my grandma needs surgery" You tell me what options you have already exhausted, why grandma isn't covered, whether or not you've checked government aid options, if you've applied for a personal loan from a bank and so on. Show me you have taken all other routes and I'm your last chance and I might consider it. If you try to con me you deserve nothing. skeevy. It's a shame. And furthermore this bill was already passed in 1982, we don't need to throw more money at this. We can achieve these goals in other ways than a poorly written bill to funnel money into someone's pocket.
final word:
Guess what... vote NO.
11/1/08
Prop. 8 equals PROP HATE vote NO!

This thing makes me so angry. If you disagree with me on this let's discuss our friendship.
go to www.protectmarriage.com/contact and copy paste what I wrote here or write your own. Let them know. Be as eloquent and polite as you can, I couldn't really stop from getting a little vulgar. This is all so unimaginable in our time.
I wrote:
You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are bigots and horribly close minded people. I am not a homosexual but I realize that it is an alternative lifestyle that people are born into. It's not taught and you don't catch it in the air in kindergarten. Traditional marriage will also be taught in school which means equal choice for the child. Are you afraid your little Jimmy or Susie already have homosexual tendencies? Or are you just remembering your own thoughts as a child? You sir, did you like to stay in the shower room extra long after the football game and make sure no one needed you to soap their back? You ma'am, did you wish you and your best friend's sleepovers could have turned into a little pillow fight in the nude? Where you always the first one to suggest practicing french kissing on each other?
You are the worst kind of people in the world and I hope your end of days rapture BS comes true so the world can be rid of you. I'd rather suffer an eternity in your idea of a hell then live in one on earth with the pre-packaged ideals you read in a book you misinterpret. Your archaic ways are so misguided and if Jesus came back he would weep at his followers and you would all stone him to death for being a hippie. Get over yourselves. Ignorance and prejudice is taught to children, passed on from one deficient generation to the next. Please kill yourselves and save the world a wave of your little ultra conservative secretly gay offspring.
I can't say enough to express my dislike and disgust for you and your movement. Have a nice day.
NO ON PROPOSITION 8
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
NO.
Prop. 7 renewable energy generation

Officially asks for:
-requires utilities, including government owned utilities, to generate 20% of their power from renewable energy by 2010, a standard currently only applied to private energy
-raises requirements for utilities to 40% by 2020, and 50% by 2025
-imposes penalties, subject to waiver, for noncompliance
-transfers some jurisdiction of regulatory matters from public utilities commission to energy commission.
-Fast-tracks approval for new renewable energy facilities
-requires utilities to sign longer contracts (20 years min.) to procure renewable energy
argument for:
for profit utility companies oppose this bill that gaurentees californians cleaner energy for decades to come. A lot of money is being spent to defeat this because it forces them to straighten up and get on board. PG and E, Southern California Edison, and san diego gas and electric are paying to oppose this. Both parties oppose the bill because the utilities donated 1.5 billion to their causes. They are in the pocket of big businesses like PG and E. California is the world's 16th largest global warming polluter we need this change.
against:
deeply flawed measure that will not produce the results it promises. forces small wind and solar companies out of the market. increase taxes and energy bills without results. Could take us to a new energy crisis. opposed by many organizations big and small. won't limit increases in our electric bills.
my take:
Why would something like this limit our bills? We are making a huge change and that COSTS MONEY!!! It is a neccessary cost though and if we don't pay for it our children and their children will with their quality of life. We take and take from this planet and we are irresponsible, this is a step in the right direction, the passing of this bill shows Californians are ready to but real force behind this movement. We need to shift to renewable energy in our homes, cars, and work. We need a statewide ban on plastic grocery bags and we need to work on a methane solution. We have a long list and we need to stop procrastinating and put a dent in that fucker.
final word:
Like the button says, "YES on 7: solar and clean energy for californians" This is one of the few yes votes because yes in this case means we are throwing money at a problem, this is worth it.
10/27/08
Prop. 6 Police and law enforcement funding, criminal penelties and laws

Officially asks for:
-requires minimum of 965 million each year to be allocated from state general fund for police, sheriffs, district attorneys, adult probation, jails and juvenile probation facilities. Some of this funding will increase in following years according to California Consumer Price Index
-Makes approximately 30 revisions to California criminal law, many of which cover gang related offenses. Revisions create multiple new crimes and additional penalties, some with she potential for new life sentences
-Increases penalties for violating a gang-related injunction and for felons carrying guns under certain conditions.
argument for:
our government does not do enough to keep us safe from gangs and violent offenders. Returns taxpayer money to local law enforcement. Redirects 1% of California's budget to local law enforcement without raising taxes. keeps our children safe. Every california sheriff and various law enforcement say yes on 7
against:
this year's props are full of proposals that sound good on first reading, but in reality will savage our economy without doing what they promise. prop 6 is a good example. Massive new spending is proposed. wastes money on ineffective programs without any oversight. The bulk of the money goes to "citizens options for public safety" a program reviewed by the state's independent legislative analyst and found to have "no definable goals" and "no identifiable results"
my take:
Raised taxes or not we pay it all. The bulk of this money as I understand it is just a giant piggy bank for random people to pull from. They don't have a specific purpose with it and they don't have to show anything tangible to justify receiving it. It equates to, "here is a billion dollars, I trust you will do good with it. Of course by good I mean nothing specific and I won't be checking to see what is done with it so go buy blow and hookers for all I care. I didn't write the check? FUCKIN' PARTY!!!"
final word:
I shall say NO to 6. I'm tired of these vague claims. Politics is too often reduced to generalized fear inducing statements. It needs to stop. Voting NO on 6 is a way to say clean your shit up and make a real argument and maybe I will consider your side next time.

Alaska's largest paper says, "Obama for president"

"Palin's rise captivates us but nation needs a steady hand"
the paper had a beautiful point by capturing a thought that more people should put into words.
..Palin's nomination clearly alters the landscape for Alaskans as we survey this race for the presidency -- but it does not overwhelm all other judgment.
gorgeous. Say it out loud. If you're an alaskan supporting alaska or a woman supporting women, realize this isn't about her it is about the other unfit candidate next to her.
here is the full article:

Prop. 5 Non violent drug offences, sentencing, parole and rehabilitation
Officially asks for:
-allocates 460,000,000 dollars annually to improve and expand treatment programs for those convicted of drug and other offenses
-Limits court authority to incarcerate offenders who commit certain drug offenses, break drug treatment, or violate parole
-decreases parole for certain offenses; increases for violent and serious felonies
-creates 19 member board to direct policy
argument for:
judges make the call as to which non violent offenders get into treatment and which don't. preserves judge's powers and gives new powers to hold offenders accountable during drug treatment.
against:
shortens parole for meth dealers and other drug felons from 3 years to six months! Get out of jail free card for those accused of child abuse, domestic violence, mortgage fraud, identity theft, auto theft, and a host of other crimes, letting them escape criminal prosecution. provides a way to avoid prosecution for those accused of killing innocent victims while driving under the influence. a veiled attempt to cut parole time and funnel the money somewhere else. establishes two new bureaucracies with no accountability which will cost millions to taxpayers. weakens rehab programs by allowing defendants to continue drug use in rehab.
my take:
From what I see this is the definition of an open and shut. the supporting side is completely full of shit and lying through their teeth. and anything supported by the orange county anything has to be bullshit. That is such a bullshit corrupt local government, fuckin' privileged white people. It makes you think it protects first time offenders. Scares you into thinking that if you're pulled over and the cop finds some weed you will go to jail. first time offenders don't go to jail in california for simple drug possession. It's like saying vote for this bill because it will stop elementary school students from being shot in the face if they J-walk. THAT SHIT DOESN'T HAPPEN SO I DON'T NEED PROTECTION FROM IT.
final word:
this one is supported by my mom's union. That means that in the past I would have voted yes but looking at the facts my own opinion is different. Make your own decisions kids! I'll vote NO
Prop. 4 waiting period and parental notification before teen abortion

final word:
I'm not even dignifying this one with a breakdown. The state of parents in this world is horrifying. I bet if an acceptable test was created and administered about .0000012 percent of the world's mothers and fathers would qualify as fit. Therefore they don't deserve this decision. I do think it is a hard choice because it gives kids too easy of a get out of jail free card. This means they fuck without fear of consequence and this on top of poor sex education is a recipe for disaster. The good outweighs the bad though, and if we get rid of bullshit like this and inform the kids to make good mature decisions by telling them the truth about STD's, pregnancy, and parenthood early and often we'll get there slowly. I'll vote no on 4.
10/23/08
Prop. 3 Children's hospital bond act

Officially asks for:
-authorizes 980 million dollars to build, redecorate, remodel, expand, furnish, and equip children's hospitals
-designates that 80% of funds go to hospitals that focus on children with leukemia, heart disease, cancer, etc.
-requires that these hospitals provide care to a high volume of children
-20% is required to go to University of California general acute care hospitals
argument for:
What is more essential then investing in hospitals where over one million times each year California children are treated traumatic injuries and illnesses like cancer, sickle cell anemia, and cystic fibrosis? What is more essential then funding neonatal care and organ transplants for children?
against:
No accountability, this money will go to already rich hospitals in the UC system and others that are benefiting from a previous 750 million dollar proposition that they haven't even finished spending. The bill says it's for children specifically but actually 80% of the money can go to hospitals as long as they also take care of children as patients.
my take:
The wording is so forced that it sounds deceitful. The words children and cancer are mentioned within two words of each other about 99 times in the for argument. It sounds like scare tactics for greedy people with no morels. They say the other argument is wrong but give no reasons why. You won't earn my vote with that bullshit.
final word:
It will probably pass because people are short sighted and once they see child cancer they will vote for it but I will vote no on 3 until they clean up and talk straight.

FUCKING HOOKERS ... GOD DAMN IT!!
Current mood: irate
Category: Life
OMG I'm sooooooooooooo fucking PISSED the FUUUUCK off right now!!!!!!
So, I'm in Vegas. My friend and I came out here to go stay at our place for a week.
Its Sunday night.. we had nothing to do, so we decided to hang around our favorite hotel (in which I've stayed at PLENTY of times), the Wynn, to go gamble, and play some black jack.
So... we sit at a min 25 dollar bet table (yeah, I'm not that much of a baller where I can sit at anything higher and afford to lose), and we play a few hands. IMMEDIATELY we get carded MORE than once for sitting there.
My dumb (naive to hooker-related business) ass thinks.. oh, they're lookin at our IDs to make sure we're 21... little did I know, they're actually running DL numbers to make sure we have no previous convictions for prostitution. Sorry.. I'm not a hooker, so I don't think like one... Didn't really know what was going on.
Well, thank God, there's NOTHING on my record, so I was fine. I continue to play blackjack, win a few hundred dollars, then we walk in to the little gift shop because my friend doesn't know how to gamble, so we went to go buy one of the little "how to" black jack cards to I can explain to her how it all works.
As soon as we walk in there, two men (in normal street clothes) walk up to us with their IDs and tell us we're under arrest!!!!!
I must have looked like a deer in headlights. I said, "What... ?!?!? HAHAHA... you guys are funny, this must be a joke!!" They pulled out there badges, and zipties (informal handcuffs) and told us to follow them.
So I'm CONFUSED as FUUUUUUUUUUUCK right now. I dont know WHAT the FUCK is going on... and I'm thinkin Candid Camera must be filming some show, and I'm on it. Ha ha.. ok.. Ashton Kutcher.. you punked us... right????
WRONG.
So we're sitting in their little make believe rent-a-cop police station in the Wynn, and they grab both of our purses. THANK GOD I had nothing illegal on me, and THANK GOD I had no condoms or anything associated with prostitution. My purse only had like 600 bucks in it, and my ID and phone were in there as well.
The stupid ASS motherfucking Sgt was such a PIECE OF SHIT. I started getting all teary-eyed, asking him what the FUUUUUUUCK was going on, and he kept on telling me to (literally) shut the fuck up. I told him I know I look like a dumbass here, because I'm asking so many questions... but WHAT THE FUCK am I under arrest for?????
He said I was under arrest for prostitution!!!!
FYI.. My ex is a cop. I've NEVER had anything on my record, and I've NEVER EVER been a hooker. I kept on telling him that, and he kept telling me to shut the fuck up.
I asked him what he was basing his information on, and he said don't worry about it. I said, "Sir, if you watch the security cameras you can see me playing black jack at a min 25 dollar bet table (sorry, hookers hang out at higher bet tables than that) and I was playing with my own money!!!
He was like, yeah, yeah, whatever hooker.
OMG.. I was about to FUCKING kill him.
I sat down with my friend on the stupid little bench he put us on, and watched some other "real hookers" get arrested while we were still sitting there.
He asked me all the probable hooker questions.. where do I live, do I do drugs, do I smoke meth, have I ever had sex for money... lalalala... and everytime I would answer he'd shake his head and say.. uh huhhh.. whatever.
I'm like why the fuck are you asking me these questions if you're not listening!!?!?!?
Fucking PIECE of SHIT motherfucker... UGHHHHHHHHHH I'm so fuckin pissed.
Well thank GOD I never said anythign to any of the undercovers that couldve gotten me in trouble, and I had nothing illegal on me, or anything on my record so they just let me go... but HOLY FUCKIN shit... Just cuz I'm a cute girl and I wanna gamble at the Wynn, I gotta be called a hooker?!?!?!?!?
Fuck you mother fucker!
That's the LAST fucking time I will EVER stay at that fucking hotel. Too bad it WAS my favorite one... Well, Steve Wynn, You just lost ANOTHER customer to the Palazzo's. Horray Mr. Venetian owner.
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I'm so pissed!
FUCK!!!!!
Prop. 2 standards for confining farm animals

Officially asks for:
-calves raised for veal, egg laying hens, and pregnant pigs be confined only in ways that allow these animals to lie down, stand up, fully extend their limbs and turn freely
-Exceptions made for transportation, rodeos, fairs, 4-H programs, lawful slaughter, research and veterinary purposes
-Provides misdemeanor penalties, including a fine not to exceed $1,000 and/or imprisonment in jail for up to 180 days
argument for:
stops cruel and inhumane treatment of animals. Promotes food safety and protects environment. agribusiness interests opposing prop 2 masquerading as the deceptively named "Californians for safe food" have a record of duping the public, harming animals, and polluting. calves are tethered by the neck and can barely move, pigs bite the metal bars of their crates, hens get trapped and even impaled in their wire cages. Conditions like this promote the spread of disease as we saw in Chino this year. California family farmers support prop 2 because they believe food quality and safety are enhanced by safe farming practices. Factory farms have devastating effects on the environment, eliminate them and protect our air and water.
against:
Jobs will be lost and egg prices will skyrocket. If this is passed we will only be able to buy eggs trucked in from thousands of miles away. hens are protected in these cages and they have all the space they need. migratory birds can infect them with BIRD FLU!!! It's risky, california law already protects animal safety.
my take:
Both sides leave you with things to question. Biggest argument against is that it will drive the business out of california. Fuck em' though, it's all scare tactics. This will be an example to follow and if enough states support it the egg guys will have nowhere to hide. This is a principle thing and we will make a stand and lead a wave across other states. I can survive without eggs if I have to. If I need to boycott eggs to reinforce my point that's a small sacrifice. Read The Omnivores Dilemma or anything by Michael Pollan, the state of food in this country is really a joke on a lot of fronts, and the joke is on us. We are spoon fed what to think and what to ignore and they do what they want under our noses. It's a McCain/Pailin-Psycho/Nazi-GOP/Fuckhead kind of business as usual mentality and it needs to end. this is a little step but a necessary one.
final word:
I will vote for this proposition. If it raises the cost of eggs I will know the eggs I eat aren't the little concentrated bubbles of pain they are now for the most part. I believe that the emotion, good or bad, becomes a part of the animal and its by-products and if you eat it it's a part of you. If for nothing else do it to be selfish. Yes on 2.

Prop. 1 High Speed Rail Bonds

Officially asks for:
-9 billion dollars to build high speed railroad between san francisco and L.A.
-funds rail expansion if money becomes available
-provides 950 million for connections to the high speed railroad and for repairing, modernizing, and improving passenger rail service, including tracks, signals, etc.
-total funding provided is 9.95 billion
argument for:
safe, easy, more affordable and less gas travel alternative to soaring gas prices, freeway congestion, rising airfare and plumeting airline service. relieve 70 million trips a year of congested freeways and clogged airports. Doesn't raise taxes. runs 220 miles an hour, la to san fran in about 2 1/2 hours. stops in san diego, l.a. fresno, san jose, san fran, and sacramento. billion dollars to help "beef up" existing rail like metro or bart in san francisco. Ten years of study and prep already invested. remove c02 equivalent of 1 million cars from air and run cleaner than alternatives. Legal oversight by governor, legislature, attorney general and an independant expert.
against:
will cost at least 40 billion to get something like this working, this 10 is just tip of the iceberg. We are already in a budget crisis and this is too much to spend with bad schools and healthcare underfuded. 58 million already spent on consulting and research trips to europe with nothing to show. 640 million a year for 30 years when you break it down with interest. this is travel statewide we are investing in when we should be investing in local travel improvements to make the metro better to get us to work.
my take:
More than anything this is still research and initial baby steps. Some money has already been applied to it without much to show and the risk is that this money is just padding someone's pocket. I like the basic idea but anyone who has made that trip in a car knows it is a great experience. Alone you get to have six hours with yourself where you are forced to work out your own problems or drown them out with music blaring for five or six hours, alone time like that is so rare today in our quick society. If it's with someone special you can't help but get a lot closer on that drive. Platonic friends or something more, a lot of discussion and maybe even some time to pull over in the middle of nowhere and "go visit grandma" (go see the movie sexdrive in theaters to get that one)
Bottom line, It will be too expensive compared to alternatives. Especially with the push to hybrid vehicles nowadays. It costs about $60 tops round trip for my gas in the civic hybrid. With how much this is costing and how in demand it will be I don't expect round trip tickets to drop under $100. I do wish some more regional focus was in the bill and perhaps in the future there will be. Metro is a mess, at least compared to other systems. It could be so much more.
final word:
I'll vote against with hopes of a better future alternative. Drive to frisco and demand better local rail here at home
Giving you your Props... 1-12

This is the first year I'm really looking at and examining each and every one of the state's propositions. I've always followed the recommendations of a certain group I trust or voted to try and help my mom in her plight as a social worker for the state. These were all basically blind assumptions though and not reflective of my personal feelings necessarily
The format for the propositions explanations from the state are a clearish statement of the bare bones facts (i.e. too boring for anyone to really look at) then comes the good stuff, the arguments for and against. A long page for and a small blurb against. Then, a long page against and a small blurb for.
The groups pick sensationalized names that try to cloud the issue. How can you feel good voting against a group called, justice for murdered children? I think it's a little unfair. the problem with just listing names is that you end up wondering who they are backed by. Then you see the groups they represent and a whole other problem is introduced.
I'm going to try and explain these propositions as I see them. Hopefully one per day for the next 12 days. I'll give the official facts, shortened arguments against and for, and my own take. Hopefully this will help me to understand them better and maybe have a couple of you vote for the issues themselves instead of just the title of the proposition on the actual ballot on election day.
So make your own assumptions or take some of the facts from mine but whatever you do write them down on a sheet of paper or your official voter info guide before you leave for the polls on the 4th and make an informed choice. And please comment, question, or argue with me if you have anything to say about what I have to say. Email if you don't want your feelings in the open. snapz5431@hotmail.com

WWMD? what would maverick do?

In the last presidential debate tonight, McCain started talking about the relief that Sarah Palin was promoting by drilling for oil in alaska.
I finally realized the sybolism and why she was chosen. All the oil is backed up underneath all that blue water. Needing, wanting, nay, DEMANDING release!!!! and Palin is here to give it to us.
Sarah Palin is gonna give america a handjob and release a beautiful rainbow sea of oil all over every american's face and chest and probably in their hair a little too.
DRILL BABY DRILL!!!
p.s. it's gonna take about ten years to actually get you that satisfaction and it will only relieve about 1% of your problem/urge. If you are voting for Mccain you are a desperate lurking virgin following around an old used up lying but charismatic whore waiting for that point ten years down the line that maybe just maybe she might just touch the tip for a second with the lights off. None of this though before she robs you blind, sets her family and friends up nice and comfy like and then drops dead only after cutting the ribbon on the greatest american hero wing of the memorial library.
congrats on your choice. See you in the bread lines.
the more you leave, the less you lose

I know too many people that are running from a bad smell with shit smeared under their noses.
sorry. the truth is vulgar.
An open letter to this person:
You think that reinventing yourself, changing a job, an apartment, a significant other, what have you, will be a warm safe blanket to catch you and nuzzle the problems away. The problem is you though. You need to stop dragging other people along down your self-obsessed path to self discovery. You need to work on yourself more and let the surrounding work itself out.
If you're a better person you'll get a better chick/guy. In turn you will feel better about yourself and land a better job/promotion. Then maybe you can afford a better place and a move would be necessary and not just you bailing on a lease and leaving your roommate in the fucking lurch. So before you go checking craigslist for your missed connection, new job, and sublet in north hollywood. Run your finger along your upper lip and if you happen to come across some feces... It's because you are full of shit and it has nowhere else to go and is starting to spill out of the holes in your face.
you can't put lipstick on a pig.
seacrest out.

Coca-colonization

I'm being too aggressively advertised to, and it's making me feel... aggressive.
We're all too easily swayed and we have allowed corporations to interweave a web of diversion into our lives. I know what I want and need before I see your fiberglass bucket of chicken or your giant sign tied to the side of a truck parked on a freeway overpass.
They are mostly evil and will destroy you if it makes a dime.
Do you know the soft drink fanta was invented by coca cola so they could still sell soft drinks but not associate the coca cola brand with the nazi party in Germany? They didn't care that the nazis were fucking insane they just cared that if they sold coke to nazis, americans wouldn't want it. So the alternative was born.

Your mission and mine: In your everyday lives, remove, deface, or destroy any and all advertising material that sticks out to you. Don't be an ass about it just grab something and do what you will. If you are called out for it just deny it, even if the evidence is in your hands. It works for the government... It should work for us.
Pretty much any fast food restaurant, retail store chain, t.v. channel, whatever it is, is owned by 4 companies at the top. They work hard to make you look and feel fat, lazy, overworked, and defeated.
Make their jobs harder.

My anger is starting to turn into a bit of reckless abandon. I'm starting to think the things we fear doing aren't things to fear at all but rather necessary. We are domesticated animals bread to stand in lines and show up on time. Fuck any and all socialized reason. Anarchy, but the good kind. Not the in your face look at my anarchy uniform with matching shoes, the more subtle... mostly non violent demonstrations. We have our motivation, the world is ending as we speak. Collapse on all sides and all this in your face corporate theft. Reading the updates on the bottom of my AIG post should make you physically ill I hope. If it does, then get out and express feeling to a crowd of strangers. write, scream, stand on the corner with a sign. Find a busy spot of your town and put up a poster. Spread knowledge like an infection. Give it to people whether they want it or not. public notices, street signs, safety warnings, stoplights. Any and everything is fair game. Be smart, be careful, and in the cover of night make your mark on the world. A bottle of spray paint holds so much knowledge, if you know how to shake it and where to point it. The corporate greed of america is basically shitting on our faces and laughing. They do it repeatedly and in public. Do the same, treat the wal-marts, targets, and electronic stores of the world as libraries (I needed to use a paper shredder so I showed target my "visa" library card and they let me check out a shredder. I shredded my papers, packed it back up and returned it. The guy looked confused when I tipped him two dollars?) Fuck brand loyalty, fuck overdone stereotypes and ways of doing things from a bygone era. Stop giving out free respect, respect is earned and not awarded at a checkpoint every decade. Fuck your parents, fuck your boss, and fuck your future selves if anyone disagrees.
Celebrate the people you love
and subtly destroy those that you don't.

How Racism Works...

What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I do' to?
What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards after being in a tragic car crash?
What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5?
What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
What if Obama was in the Air force and recklessly crashed 5 military planes,
one which he was coming back from a football game and visiting a girlfriend with?
If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are? This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.
You are The Boss... which team would you hire?
With America facing historic debt, 2 wars, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, mortgage crises, bank fore closures, etc.
Educational Background:
Obama:
Columbia University - B.A.
Political Science with a Specialization
in International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Magna Cum Laude
Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History
and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law -
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
vs.
McCain:
United States Naval Academy -
Class rank: 894 of 899
Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A.
in Journalism
And let’s not forget that when the V.P.
candidates come home to
their spouses and discuss issues,
Biden is talking to
Jill Biden who holds:
Bachelor of Arts from the
University of Delaware.
Master of Arts in English from Villanova University
Master of Education with a specialty in
reading from West Chester University
Doctor of Education in educational leadership
from the University of Delaware
and Palin is talking to...
Todd Palin who “has taken some college
courses but does not have a degree”.
Now, which team are you going to hire?
PS: What if Barack Obama had an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter....
I guess if McCain is elected we all will being
crawling onto that Bridge To Nowhere…

I called the direct 212 number, told the call screener I was a concerned customer that needed an explanation and some type of justification on the "Getaway" in Orange County. I was first told... get this, IT WAS ONLY A FOUR DAY TRIP??? Not the eight days reported in the story. Sep. 24th to the 28th. The great part is that she was trying to say that it wasn't that bad because it was only four days but the point I was making was that they spent 25 grand on spa treatments in only eight days. I said,
"In eight days of the retreat.." here she cut me off and told me it was only 4 days, "that just makes it even worse? In only 4 days your company spent 25 grand on spa treatments alone." She paused for a while and it ended up somewhere around, "was this the right time to do this sir......(very long pause).....probably not."
It went on for awhile but nothing could be said really because we both know what this really was. She said it was planned a year prior, I asked was there are least any discussion of scaling it back to the bare bones of the conference or maybe not holding it in one of the most expensive hotels in Orange County? She said she could not really speak to any of that. She did say only 10 of the atendees were actually AIG employees and the rest were independant contractors that sell the insurance. No doubt those 10 were a good chunk of the executive committee.
Please use this resource. She gave me a Direct Phone number
Lisa Crocker 1(217) 541-7791
call her, question this, get angry.
I had to be calm to get some info. and the number but you don't have to. Yell! Question! Get Angry! We are all being taken on a ride to the bottom and we are paying for the tickets, gas, maintenance, and swedish massages for the conductor.
HELP YOURSELVES, HELP ME, HELP.
Above is a copy of the actual hotel bill, this is real people, DO SOMETHING!!!
you can find some good coverage of this on Nancy Pelosi's blog.

update: CNN just announced that AIG is getting an additional 38 billion dollars to their bailout. I really have nothing left.
update 2: Oct. 8 (Bloomberg) -- American International Group Inc., castigated by the White House, Congress and Barack Obama for hosting a $440,000 conference days after an $85 billion federal bailout, plans to hold another gathering for brokers next week at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, CA
The time has come the walrus said, to speak of many things.

dear friends...
At a time such as this I think it's important to put your thoughts out there. Your two in the morning, scattered, grammar/ spelling error ridden, so frustrated you make no sense thoughts out and on paper. This is a passionate time in your life and passion begets creativity in some cases. It's better to give it a shot just in case your fingertips vomit genius all over the keyboard.
Where to start.... What the fuck is going on and is or isn't it as bad as they do or don't say it is. “Things never get that bad?” “People worry too much and it's just fear mongering” You want to believe that but then you hear Iceland...as a country...will declare bankruptcy soon? A fucking country will declare bankruptcy? That headline alongside, “Bailout recipient AIG is spending our tax dollars on a half a million dollar retreat at a luxury hotel for it's executives” Days after their 85 billion dollar bailout.... they are celebrating in style spending more than 25 grand in eight days on spa treatments alone. Is this real???? and to top it off and just complete the full time capsule representation of earth today for future generations, the last headline I saw is... “Boyfriend of woman stuck to toilet wins lottery for 2nd time”
Sometimes while driving I realize I wouldn't mind so much if I had a muscle spasm and slammed into a wall, dying instantly and leaving everyone else to deal with the world's collective shame of being. Everything we do in life is designed to keep us in line and keep us tired, hurting, and scared enough to not mount a sufficient opposition to the blanket being put over our heads. At the same time pointing out all of our deficiencies, especially now, is unpatriotic and makes you an easy target as a ranting nut job. It is so easy for any conversation of what's going on today to snowball into the he said/ she said conspiracy theories that are too good to not be true. While we rant, we hesitate. We hesitate because we realize we've been socialized to be almost sickened by this approach to an issue. “radical” “obsessive” “just a mouthpiece for a issue” “far left/right” Whatever your title, breakthrough the built in bias and realize that the truth has gotten to the point that it's more insane than anything a bum could yell at the sky in the middle of traffic.
I realize this a bit vague and droning at times but fuck it, say whatever you can because tomorrow you'll be too tired from your shit job, too drunk off your cheap beer, too sick and unable to wait at or afford the hospital, too nervous that the world will collapse before the sun comes up the next day, or just too busy reading on the internet how to tie a noose and spell checking that suicide note. It's all designed to keep you quiet, it's all designed to make you feel a defeated failure. Don't let “the plan” succeed, I don't care what you think, I fight to ignore what my mind tells me I should think and I look at our situation in the world clearly, unbiased, and as I slowly examine it all I weep.
Thank you for reading and hopefully we'll live to write another day,
Phil
